Safer, Stronger Dancers & Instructors™: Summer Intensive for Injury Prevention, Technique, and Dance Professional Development

Why I Created the Safer, Stronger Dancers & Instructors™ Summer Intensive

As a dancer, instructor, and passionate advocate for long-lasting careers in the dance world, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of education, injury prevention, and holistic training.

These aspects are essential not only for dancers’ success but also for ensuring that they thrive in a safe and sustainable way throughout their careers. That’s why I’m incredibly excited to announce the Safer, Stronger Dancers & Instructors™ Summer Intensive — a transformative program designed for dancers, instructors, and dance educators of all ages and levels.

The intensive was created with one mission in mind: to empower dancers to be safer and stronger on while helping instructors build sustainable practices for themselves and their students. Through this intensive, I want to provide a comprehensive, multifaceted experience that blends the art of dance with the science behind it — and I’m thrilled to be able to bring this online and to the Cleveland, Ohio area.

Who is the Safer, Stronger Dancers & Instructors™ Summer Intensive For?

This program is for teen dancers, adult dancers, senior dancers, and even dance educators who are committed to improving their skills while prioritizing their health and well-being.

Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, the intensive is designed to meet you where you are and help you grow stronger both in your craft and in your physicality.

For dancers, this is an opportunity to learn injury prevention techniques, develop a deeper understanding of your body’s needs, and enhance your performance abilities. For dance educators, the program will offer you tools and techniques to better care for your students, especially when it comes to maintaining proper alignment and avoiding injuries that could affect their longevity in dance.

What You Will Accomplish

Throughout the Safer, Stronger Dancers & Instructors™ Summer Intensive, you'll gain a comprehensive understanding of how to improve both your technique and performance. The program is structured to ensure that every dancer and educator walks away with practical knowledge they can apply immediately.

  • Injury Prevention: Learn key techniques to prevent injuries that commonly occur in dancers, with a focus on safe execution of movements.

  • Physical Strength and Mobility: Develop better body awareness, flexibility, and strength through therapeutic and specialized exercises.

  • Training in Multiple Dance Styles: Explore a variety of techniques in ballet, jazz, and contemporary dance, led by experienced professionals who are experts in their fields.

  • Professional Development for Educators: Dance educators will be equipped with knowledge to support their students' health, technique, and long-term growth in the dance world.

Expert Professionals Leading the Way

One of the most exciting aspects of this intensive is the variety of experts who will be guiding you. I’ve partnered with some of the best in the field to offer a truly comprehensive experience.

  • Dance Medicine Experts: Gain insights from experienced practitioners who specialize in dance injuries and rehabilitation.

  • Leading Instructors in Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary Dance: These instructors will offer the highest level of technical training in a variety of dance styles, ensuring that you walk away with new skills and perspectives.

  • Physical Therapy Practitioners: With years of experience working specifically with dancers, these professionals will guide you through exercises and stretches to keep your body strong and injury-free.

  • Stage Makeup Seminar: A unique aspect of this summer intensive is the Stage Makeup Seminar led by a Emmy® Award-winning makeup artist. This seminar will teach dancers and instructors professional makeup techniques to help enhance confidence on stage, ensuring that you feel as polished and prepared as you look.
