Flexibility & Stretches for Dancers

To improve flexibility in dancers ages 6+

In today’s world of endless trending exercises, it’s hard to know what’s truly effective, safe, and functional for dancers. Every day, drastic stretches that put unnecessary stress on the body go viral, promising quick results. But the reality is, those quick fixes often come with risks.

I won’t promise you instant flexibility.

What I will promise is a safe and effective routine designed to help you lengthen your muscles and increase your range of motion in a way that supports your long-term success as a dancer. This program focuses on sustainability, injury prevention, and real progress that benefits your dancing for the long haul.

I struggled with getting my splits...

As a young dancer, I struggled to get my splits and was told I couldn’t join the kick line until I mastered them.

It wasn’t until I was 15 that I finally managed to fully go down into my splits. I stretched constantly, feeling frustrated and aggravated that all my efforts weren’t paying off.

Desperate, I forced myself into extreme positions—pressing against walls, suspending between chairs, propping my legs on textbooks, and holding stretches for up to 5 minutes.

Little did I know, it wasn’t my lack of effort or insufficient stretching that was holding me back from seeing improvements in my range of motion. The real issue was that my neuromuscular system was working overtime to protect me from the excessive stretching I was putting myself through, tightening up as a protective response to prevent injury.

Why my program is different...

Years later, I’m now a mother, a 33-year-old teacher, Certified Personal Trainer, and still dancing—thanks to changing how I train. Instead of relying on intense stretching or secret tricks, I began integrating the physical therapy practices I learned while working in clinical settings.

My flexibility took off, not from overstretching, but from patience, neuromuscular techniques, and strengthening the opposing muscles.

That’s why I created this course for you—to provide a safe, effective resource you can access anytime, whether on your phone, computer, or tablet. It’s designed for dancers of all styles, ages 6 and up, to help you stay consistent with a routine that promotes real flexibility and injury prevention. *Please note: dancers with pre-existing injuries or conditions should consult with Veronica or a physician before participating.
